Tufted Upholstery and March Madness.

I love me some tufting! Tufting can be so glamorous and also adds some extra visual interest to an otherwise plain piece. I am searching for the perfect tufted bench for a dressing room project I'm currently working on, and it got me thinking about how much I love a good tufted piece. Below are some of my favorites.

And be sure to check back in tomorrow, because for the month of March I've challenged myself to write only original content posts! I repeat: only ORIGINAL CONTENT POSTS! So for you readers, that means lots and lots of DIY projects and for me a very busy month :) Can't wait for tomorrow to start all the March Madness fun!

I love the color combo in the bedroom above. It's warm yet fresh.

I know we've all seen this image, but I still love it. So much going on, but in the best way ever!

Refined elegance at its best.

Handsome and comfortable. I can image lots of happy family meals around that table.

See you tomorrow for March Madness kick off!

Wallpaper.

My love for wallpaper is nothing new. It makes such a sweeping statement and can add that va-va-voom a room so often needs, especially one without many architectural details.

Here are some of my favorite examples.
Wallpaper here turns a not-so-special closet into a wow factor! And I love that they continued the paper right up onto the ceiling. The paneling on the doors is pretty spectacular as well.

Right. Because little girls clothes aren't cute enough already.

An easy way to make your laundry room a happier place! And for a small area like above, you can get a remnant on the cheap.

And for those of you renters out there, fear not! There is a solution for you. Renters Wallpaper (seen above) comes down in large pieces and does not damage the wall beneath. Perfect for those of us who like to change things up from time to time too!

Craigslist Score!

I'm leaving in a few minutes to pick up these (future) beauties.

(Nice from the front. But when you turn them to the side the real magic begins...)

(Wait for it, wait for it.....BAM! The most beautiful cane trellis pattern you ever did see, no?)

I can't wait to get my hands on them and give that much needed TLC they are crying out for. "Please paint us a beautiful bright color!" "And add some fabric or pretty paper to our shelves!" Here are some combos I'm considering.

(Option 1: Take a Walk on the Wild Side)

(Option 2: Secret Garden)

(Option 3: Burden of Beauty)

(Option 4: Call Me Crazy)

Which combination do you like best? Post a comment with your favorite option and we'll see which is the most popular option! This could be fun!

Now I'm off to get them and left wondering which is a bigger problem- that I don't have anywhere to put these gems in my packed-to-the-gills apartment or that furniture talks to me?

Excuse My Randomness: Jayson Home & Garden Edition.

I poured over Jayson Home & Garden's facebook images yesterday afternoon. I didn't know I could love them and their line of home goods any more than I already did. But it's officially a full blown love affair now! Here are some tons of images that had my heart racing.

(Loving just about every element of this shot of their showroom.)

(Orange and yellow lacquered furniture with gray and white upholstery? Yes, please!)

(Feels like summer. Galvanized buckets are great for containing messes around the house. Who said storage had to be ugly?)

(The graphic nature of this pattern combined with the pop of color is great.)

(Yummy rug and mustard chair! Where can I place my order?!)

(Love the wall mural in the background. Inspiration for a future piece!)

(Some inspiration from India taken on a buying trip. Talk about dream job!)

(More India)

(More India)

(Zebra!)

(Handsome decor.)

(That peacock blue velvet makes my heart skip a beat!)

(Beautiful)

(The texture of this tray is gorgeous!)

Be sure to check out their online store for both new and flea finds, and drop in to their Chicago brick and mortar version if you're lucky enough to live near by. It won't disappoint, I promise!

Wouldn't You Just Love To...

Be the proud mama of those brilliant "artists" (featured on the fridge), prepare dinner with that amazing orange Le Creuset cook wear, and soak in all the natural light this turquoise-lacquered-cabinet and Carrera-marble-backsplashed kitchen has to offer.

Blanket Fort.

So this post isn't exactly about design...

On Monday, I took to transforming my living room into a giant Valentine's Day tent to surprise boyfriend. Creating the tent was so much fun, but walking in after our amazing dinner (see picture number two, three, and four below below for proof) was priceless. Boyfriend was shocked, and watching TV and hanging out in our "fort" with champagne was more exciting that you can imagine.

(Didn't I get a handsome one?! I still pinch myself sometimes.)

(Ethereal water nymph painted on our table.)

(Yummy exposed brick walls.)

(Cheese please!)

(Candles!)

Not pictured: A beautiful bouquet of cottage roses and hydrangeas. Love, Chloe perfume I've been lusting for! And lot's of Valentine's Day kisses. Muah!

Inspiration via January/February 2011 Lonny.

Better late than never, here are some of my favorites from JAN/FEB 2011 Lonny. Enjoy!

(Inspiration Board at Lilly Pulitzer)

(Love the graphic rug, but not as much as the orange and white bedding.)

(Silhouettes galore- yes please!)

(Pattern Play)

(I so want a cookbook nook like that!)

(Beautiful Bookshelves)

(So elegant! Yet the X benches keep it surprisingly fresh.)

Which of these did you love?
